We drove to Raton KOA, set up the camper and then headed out to drive the Highway of Legends. I wanted to record it for mom and also it is one of my favorite scenic drives in the area. This time of year is just stunning with the vibrant colors.The first photo is as we were leaving Blue Mesa then the others are along the scenic drive.
We grabbed lunch at Sonic and I must say, I think that was the worst food I have ever gotten from Sonic. Bleh…Raton has really fallen into a sad state. There is not many places to eat, the streets seem to be full of wandering drifters and most of the businesses are shut down. It is sad. The campground was ok, but just a stop off, not a place to really stay.
