TT Lake Conroe (Oct 31-Nov 19) 2025

Trick-or-Treat! We arrived in Willis, Texas and got all settled well ahead of time to have fun passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. We got a site in the new area up front. It was ok, but I would have preferred a site in the back, more ‘campground’ area. We got quite a few kiddos, so it was fun!

Switched to fall on Nov 1

Ed loves Pancho’s Mexican Buffet! Anytime we are in the area of one, we have to go. This one was a big hit, as they still have the flags on the tables! “Raise the flag!”

One night, Ed booked us a sunset cruise around the lake. Well, it was an experience! First of all, the sun was well set prior to boarding, so we missed the sunset completely. The boat was a mess! There were spider webs in every nook and corner. The boat was filthy, the ails, the baseboard area, the trim, the seat cushions…it was wild. Some people had dinner aboard, but I am so glad we opted not to purchase the meal, as I would have not eaten anything, as I figure if what I can see if filthy, imagine what the kitchen must look like! UGH!

Unfortunately, I had to return to Dallas for a couple of days, due to some ongoing health issues. I spent about a week feeling poorly, so we didn’t go out too much or do many ‘fun’ things.

We did determine that due to the traffic in the Houston and surrounding area, we did not enjoy this area. It is wild how awful the traffic is. To get anywhere takes much longer than it should, which makes going out something of a chore. We probably will not make this stop one of our usuals. We just didn’t prefer the area.

Next onto Corpus Christi!
